Kishtwar Police Smash Inter-district Drug Racket, 02 Arrested | KNO

Kishtwar (KNO) : The Kishtwar police has smashed an inter-district drug racket operating between Kishtwar Jammu and Srinagar. The police has arrested two persons and recovered a huge quantity of drug.

While divulging details to the media the Senior Superintendent of Police Abrar Chowdhary said that the police had developed a specific information in the last few days that a group of persons are involved the inter-district sale and purchase of banned sedative drugs.

Acting on this information a police party led by SHO Police Station Kishtwar Inspector Sameer Jillani under the supervision of Dy. SP Operations Kishtwar Nissar Khoja conducted raid in Kuleed area and recovered 940 tablets of Topspas.

All these tablets are sedative in nature and the persons arrested use to sell these to the youth and students for addiction against huge payments. The police has arrested two pwrsons in this regard who have been identified as Shoaib Zargar S/O Ali Mohd Zargar R/O Faridiya Road Kishtwar and Shewat Kumar S/O Jai Krishan R/O Zelna Kishtwar.

The police has registered case FIR No. 57/2018 u/s 48(a) Excise Act and 3/13 Drugs and Cosmetic Act in police station Kishtwar against the accused persons. The police is investigating the case and more arrests are likely in near future, said the SSP. He said that police is all out against the drug peddlers and shall not spare anyone in this regard. He appealed the people to keep a strict watch on the activities of their wards and inform police wherever needed.(KNO)
